Southeast Wyoming | hinfarm - 12/3/2012 21:43 I almost have my wife sucessfully tricked to go to Denver to the stock show in January. We plan to shoot a day there (or close to it). She only wants to be gone 4 days since so it will be a short trip. I'd like to go rent a snowmobile and head into the mountians for an afternoon. I also wouldn't mind touring the place where the necter of the God's is produced (Coors). Other than that what else can we check out while we are there without spending all day on the road (so within 2-3 hours of Denver) or a ton of money?
The Denver, Boulder, Fort Collins area are known as the Napa Valley of Beer (or The Beer Triangle) so if you are into that you should find plenty to do. If you tire of yellow excrement, your wife may enjoy the Butterfly Pavilion in Thornton; I've been there a couple times and enjoy a chance to enjoy nature in out of the winter cold. I never was much into snowmobiles or skiing, probably due to the fact I work out in the cold most of the winter and don't find those sports, or any sports, to be relaxing.
The Denver Aquarium is good but I don't know about the winter schedule on any of these things; and there is the Denver Zoo, and The Botanical Gardens. I hear that the Glenn Eyrie Castle (originally built by General Palmer) near Colorado Springs is worth a visit. Of course there are Black Hawk and Central City if you are mathematically challenged.
