This is what my accountant quotes too - "available for use". If you buy a corn planter on the last day of the year, obviously you can't use it on frozen ground but so long as it is available for use it is legit. In the case of the pickup that isn't built yet - probably an infraction.

To the original poster, maybe in 2012 you could buy a truck that is on the dealers lot and therefore available for service and then trade it back to the dealer when the new 2013 is delivered.
