west texas | A few neighbors have tried retreads and they wear very quickly. The tread or guide blocks don't fall off but the rubber compound seemed to wear very fast. Would of really never known they wore quicker but one neighbor immediately after installing the new tracks had one track ruined when Cat hauled the tractor and the trucker hit something. Cat stood behind accident and replaced it with a camoplast belt. When the retread wore out the camoplast side still had 50% or more tread left. Maybe they have improved since then but from my observation they were inferior in quality. I would highly recommend the 5500 series camoplast. They are unfortunately the most expensive but WOW they ride smoother and hold up very well. Others around have tried different brands due to lower cost but always end up buying Camoplast on the next purchase. I recommend the 5500 series over the 3500 series because the lifespan and ride far outweigh the extra cost. | |
