Dallas Center IA 515-720-2463
I was there in the fall of 2006. On the way home from Thanksgiving with Illinois John's family and a visit to Mr David Morgan.

I was only on the Illinois side. Town of Grand Tower.

Below if it posts, is a Google of Tower Rock and Grand Tower.
I was in the area along the river without a lot of trees. If I can find Paint on this Mac putor I will point it out.
About a half mile from the rock.

I inteened to go to a local beer parlor and ask some questions about the thing.
But no beer joints in Grand Tower. But I did talk to a helpful lady on the sidewalk.

It is not that hard to climb to the top. There is a rope hanging down that makes it a a lot easier.
During low water you can walk to Tower Rock from the Missouri side. Will have to do some wading, but not deep.

Google shows it to be about 500' from the Missouri riverbank. And a road right there.

I have plans to see Tower Rock from the Missouri side, just have not got to it.

I was glad I took a look from the Illinois side.
My pictures of it are in an old puter that probably will not come alive anymore. Good reason to go back.

The Google image was too big and would not post. But I found a re size deal on the Mac.
Could not find Paint, but I found a deal that will do what Paint does.

The red arrow points to the riverside parking area that I was in.
I want to go back.
