Always seemed easier to me to lay the trees down with the excavator, use a chainsaw to cut the stumps off. Then pile it up with the dozer. Then while burning the pile use the equipment to keep it pushed up. If the stumps are not just huge, I use the excavator to knock off the dirt and put them on the burning pile. When done burning dig a hole, push the remains in and cover it up
