NEMO | Could be a number of things as others have indicated. Loss of power, coupled with a choppy sound, would theoreticly indicate 1 or more cylinders misfiring for a number of reasons. Check oil to see if the oil level is overfull, due to coolant or fuel in the oil. An overfull crankcase could cause the increased amount ot blowby. You didn't indicate what the exhaust was like, blue, black, white, normal, excessive? Injector could be laying out, cracked/scored piston, dropped valve, turbo could've thrown some vanes and imbedded in a piston or knocked a tip off of an injector. If coolant in the oil, could be water pump, head gasket or something more serious internally. If fuel in the oil, then first check injectors or more serioous probelms internally. My advise would be first to check oil, change fuel filters, carefully crack injector lines individually to pin point which cylinder(s) are dead, pull and inspect/check injectors. From there, you will probably be pulling the head, unless coolant in the oil indicate a water pump leaking coolant into the crankcase. Good luck. |
