| Although when trading overnight I HATE HFT algo's... I do agree that they do as much good as bad. They add a lot of liquidity at times. But people talk like they are this huge cash machine. If they were, names like PTJ, Stevie Cohen (whoops?) wouldn't be spoken... because HFT would be the big consistent return guys. HFT aren't 'big money makers'. They do well in certain markets. But in others get worked.
So would I like to see them go away? yeah. But i think it could ruin some of our nice liquidity in options and other areas as well. | |
