rtng - 11/22/2012 15:22 I'm pretty sure most single disc fertilizer openers are set up like mine, with the disc angled away from the seed trench. I have noticed at row ends, where the planter unit hasn't gone over the opener trench, that the fert opener lifts and loosens the soil a couple inches wide. I'm wondering why a guy couldn't reverse the fert openers to loosen the soil directly in front of the planter unit, for a mini strip till effect. Harvest being done, I'm looking for ideas for spring. Thanks.
