Yes, I was born in a polder too, about 14 feet under sea level.
My dad did a couple of fields too, with 3 D4 Cat's and made the heavier clay into a beautiful light clay/sandy soil, perfect for flowerbulbs and other specialty crops.
And as a bonus, lots of old sea shells so calcium level was great and no more standing water on the land. He had to re-tile the land though.
