Subject: Solar Fencer Follow-up

NE Iowa
Follow-up to my post below about 110V vs solar fencers. The "make your own" solar fencer idea got me investigating prices and specs. Also it seems that more Joules is important and didn't realize how small my cheap solar ones are (0.25 J).

Found some good solar fence calculators here:

http://www.kencove.com/fence/131_Solar+Panel+Calculator_resource.ph...

For a 3J battery fencer it says I need a 30 watt panel and a battery of 100 amp-hours. I didn't realize that they make dual power charger that can run on 12V DC or 110 AC.

Thinking about this for a charger (PB30 for $160):

Teaming it up with this 30 watt panel ($56.50):

And then this marine battery, 100 aph ($73):

So $289 total and free shipping would get me a 3J solar set-up that could be converted to AC if it didn't pan out. Any comments or concerns with these items? Should be plenty powerful for aobut 1 mile of weed-free single wire fence, right?
