| I wouldn't quit your job just yet. I worked at a coop back in the day and found spring extremely hectic, but fall wasn't that bad. So as several have mentioned work ground using dad and maybe some part time help from a HS kid or retiree. Do some yourself too if possible. Have it custom planted by someone who's a good fit. Have your coop do all the spraying and fertilizer spreading. In the offseason you'll have time to make management decisons and work on equipment. In the fall evenings, weekends, and the occassional day off should be feasible for harvest. Again, may be cheaper to hire it done versus owning own combine, | |
