| Yes it does work. I just found out that I have several USB ports that don't seem to recognize the i-pad or i-phone. When I plugged the i-pad USB/charger cable into the right port on my laptop the computer went ahead and installed the needed driver and things worked the same as last winter. It is the wife's i-pad so don't connect to the computer very often. Once the driver is installed just go to my computer and you should see your i-pad witch you can click on and open up to your photo role, then you can copy and paste the same as any other mass storage device. If you have I-tunes installed on your computer it will open right after the driver is installed and once setup it will back up your i-pad. You do not need I-Tunes running to access your device through " My Computer". I hope this helps. The same works with the I-Phone.
