For the bunk 2' at least. I found out that hand feeding ( is the way I do it ) you need no less than 2' per head.
Now if you go ahead an add on to come up with a 32 - 36 all you got to do is fix the feeder so they ( claves ) can eat from both sides.
As far as ading on all you need is a roof. Us some old tin or anything to block the wind in the winter and take it down in th summer.
There is a guy at HumBolt IL. that is only using wind breaks no building.
Lime works good , I used it for fourty yrs.
