Oregon | Good point. But I don't think that I would pull the trigger on higher hour construction equipment. The best that can happen is that nothing breaks while it falls off the depreciation curve. My hunch is that at those hours, the Quad becomes some of the more expensive traction to run per hour- but I have not done the math lately. But, as always, if you can buy it below the curve by a couple of years and nothing breaks, and then you turn it over at market value, you win. If and if.
My book says -$6.10 / hour for each hour over 2790 (2006 model year). That is a $14k deduction from $165k retail cash. So if it is a 2006, it should retail at $151k. Here is the kicker, rough trade and wholesale price is right around $115k - $125k. If you could land a 450 Quad with 5k hours for $120k, you could afford to fix some things.
But this is all from a trade value book and it may not be - probably isn't - applicable to your local market.
I forgot - add:
5,500 for PTO
3,500 for 36" tracks
660 for 5th/6th hyd valve
2,800 for AFS
7,900 for 3 point
1,000 for diff lock
960 for HID
990 for high output hyd pump
3,400 for twin-flow hyd system
1,100 for luxury cab
