Weather is key in beans. We can get all the chicken litter we want and my uncle has chicken barns and farms also and I can tell you right quick that chicken litter does not raise big yields. Small part of the equation ... yes but most of it depends on weather. I know if the beans get stressed somehow may it be burning the leaves or dry them out some it will shock the beans and they will set pods. But you have to have water to fill those beans out. We combined some beans in some bottom ground that had 3 tons of litter on it and it averaged 30 bu over the whole thing. By looking at the beans you would think twice that easy but their was no water to fill out the pods.
Those were not our beans and he had planted regular conventional beans like we used to plant 15 years ago. The stalks were all about an inch thick or more and it was a slow go combining them trees. The bine did not like them at all.
