Almond Wi. 90 mil. north of Madison exact center | Just finished today and have an old 9500 JD 90 model. Did about 700 acres of which 160 was my own. Ended up putting both drive tires on this year. $6000..... repairs are ridiculous. Run it through the shop each year and spend a couple of thousand on it. I guess it just depends on your situation. I'm sure rentals are very expensive also. But this does the job for me and I'm getting close to retirement from my regular job and will be able to spend more time farming in my retirement. Of course, I realize that the tires probably is a one time deal for me. So, I don't know took in about $15000 this year in custom work. I'm just a small time operater, but used and owning my own maching always works for me. |
