West Kentucky | At this point, the best gauge that we have found for building parameters is previous years yield maps. We take multiple years maps then ground truth them to each field to insure that highs and lows match up to actual field conditions. For example, we have a small bottom that will easily support higher pops, but previous yield history indicated the area needed lower pops due to lower yields from flooding occasionally. So at that point, I had to decide if I was willing to risk the extra seed due to the chance of flooding. As you know, we have been running trials to establish more accurate parameters, but we are not there yet. | |
