Going by last year's timeline, there could be a batch of releases by the second week or so of December, and then another batch the first week in January. I'm sure there will be at least 1 batch of releases, on a second batch I'm not 100% sure, this is a different year. I would expect the one batch out anytime between now and mid December. Now watch 'em make a liar out of me. :)

I can also say that NuTech will now be selling Viptera hybrids for next year. I just got all the product info in the mail today. After wanting to release 4 new Viptera hybrids for 2012, and holding off due to this Chinese approval farce, and then adding 4 more Viptera hybrids for 2013, I think the company got tired of waiting, and said the heck with it, we're not waiting any longer. We were told at our post harvest meeting 3 or 4 weeks ago that this was going to happen, and that all 8 would be released for 2013.

I would go to your dealer, or find out who the DSM is, and contact him, and tell him/them that you want the 1.8 if there is any way possible. Some years if supply is a problem, the company will go to the well, and pull back a number that has been discontinued in order to help supply. Not saying it will get you anywhere, but I've known it to happen. It's worth a try.
