Does that price get you a complete bar or just the knives?

I made my own out of flat steel and sickle sections from a previous combine's bean head.    I've had to replace a few of them over the years due to damage by foreign objects.

The only thing I don't like is that it won't drop down far enough to get the knives all the way out so I always take the whole bar out for doing corn.   Taking it out is easy but getting it back in can be a pain in the rear.
