If you loose 1-2 bu. of beans/ac on 500-1000ac. from shatter, uneven feeding, etc. you are paying for one anyway.
Personally I can't see 2bu because I don't believe that we're loosing that from what I see now with the air reel. At 1bu x $15 that's 15,000 per year. It will take me 5 years to pay for one at that rate if i had free money (which I don't). Everyone on here says that there isn't any maintenance and that they never wear out but I don't believe that for even one second. From what I hear at the parts counter parts are really high too. I'll wait a few years and see how this all shakes out before I jump into a header that costs more than my combine did. |
