Subject: RE: John Deere 1990 ccs air seeder

Middlesex County - ON
We have one season (1000+ acres soys. and about 250 acres winter wheat) on ours and all things said, are quite happy with it. Has some seed hose issues, and monitor issues, but think we finally cleared those up. Ours has the newest seed sensors on every row (after the "Y"), earlier ones only have one sensor per two rows before the "Y" splitter. With the new sensors, soybeans are extremely close as far as the monitor/sensor count (as long as it has been calibrated a few times). We had a scale kit put on it this summer though, prior to seeding winter wheat. The sensors are pretty much useless in wheat. Does a great jon planting, as any JD no-till unit has for years. The placement, however, with an air seeder was best described here as a "controlled spill". Once you get your head around that, things are good. Make sure you have lots of hydraulic capacity to run the fan.
