If the eye sees light reflected from the pole or a nearby building it will turn the light off, then back on, all night. If the eye sees too much sun set it will be slow to turn on, same thing if it sees too much sunrise it will be quick to turn off. The eye position can't be any old position and have the light work right.

just a thought...... we are a quarter mile off of the highway/ county road intersection, when cars came to the stop sign on the intersection, once in a while ones's headlights hit the eye and shut it down for a bit.We had to turn the eye farther away from the view of the intersection. |
