If soil is moist and cool with good rain and cooler temps after seeding, broadcasting seems to work well.

When soil is hot and dry with good rain after seeding but it turns hot again, broadcasting is less effective.

Those observations are either dryland or irrigated with or without a partial canopy. Watering them up seems to take several days in the heat of summer. Seeding into a decent amount of soil cover appears to aid brassica germination.

Broadcast radish need some XX amount of time where soil moisture stays near the surface for good germination. Once they get 3-5 trues leaves drought tolerance is very impressive! Radish taproot must be like an energizer bunny! LOL
