Rear axle seal on ours started leaking 2/3 of the way through planting season. We probably went through 15 gal of oil to get by. Never considered it to be a fire hazzard. Nothing back there that I know of that would be an ignition source. This is on a 400 with 3-point and PTO. Dealer said they have had some tractors that are on their 3rd seal. Not pleasant to hear.
