no, the GPS receiver in the EZ-Guide 500 will not work with the new RTX signal. You will need to upgrade to an FM-750(CFX), FM-1000(FMX) or the new 372 receiver to receive this signal. There are two levels of RTX, Standard and Fast convergence (both have the same accuracy, with standard you will have a convergence time of 25-30 minutes, where as Fast you should lock on and be able to run within a few minutes). If you want to use standard convergence, your display/receiver will need to be unlocked to omnistar, if you would like to use the Fast Convergence RTX you will need to be unlocked to RTK.
There is a Trade-Up Program available through Trimble and CNH dealers: Trade in your current or competitive display towards the purchase of either a FM750 or FM1000 display, and receive a free accuracy upgrade (WAAS to Omnistar Unlock, worth $2000). If your trade in EZ-Guide 500 is already unlocked to Omnistar or RTK, those unlocks will transfer to the new display, plus you will receive an additional unlock for the display itself.
Cost of a FM-750 display is $2995, cost of an FM-1000 is $5995, if you trade in your EZ-Guide 500, should be all you need to receive RTX standard convergence (or fast convergence depending on the unlocks/if any, you have on the 500), in addition you will need a few harnesses to connect the new display to your current steering system.
