roaming | generally it's EEPROM, for Electrically Erasable PROgram Memory. JD9530 hit it. Usually used for saving things over a power cycle, like settings, hardware configurations, etc. Typically it would be things that are specific to a certain device, rather than settings that could be shared. (i.e. guidance lines would not be saved in EEPROM, since they can be shared among several displays. A display backlight setting might be saved in EEPROM, since it's specific to that display.) | |
