A Garmin 18x 5hz is a smart antenna (GPS is inside)
A 250 has the GPS inside of it. The antenna is just that an antenna.
If you look up the accuracy on both the 18 & the 250 you will find the 250 with the patch antenna has quite a bit better accuracy than the 18x!
