After my sordid experience with lots of printers in my computer career, there's only one printer overall that I've come to love: The HP Laserjet 6MP. The thing is amazing. Prints year in, year out, without any problems. 600x600 dpi, b&w laser. Does HPGL and PostScript.
They can still be found in the used market, and there are still toner cartridges made for them.
