| Couldn't you wrap a piece of cardboard around it and mark it. One straight edge then put a mark at point A along that edge, next mark at 180 degrees (1/2 the circumference) along the straight edge =point B. Point C would be the diameter of the tube, 90 degrees from the straight edge 8" from point B . Remove from the tube and cut from point B to point C. Mark your cardboard A B &C and your auger the same for line up purposes. Mark one side then use reverse side to mark the remaining side. You might be able to do this without being on the tube but checking exact circumference would be important.
I haven't tried the angle cut but learned the cardboard trick from this site a few years back wanting a straight cut on a large pipe. Angle might not work like I think it should??????????????????? Trial first? | |
