| The 3 and 2 port Brand valves have different compensator spools. http://www.brand-hyd.com/efc/efc-info.htm describes the difference and the reason.
Comparing Ross and Char-Lynn motors is going to depend on which model of each one you compare. They each make motors that have better low speed (and high speed) performance than the cheapest model. I doubt that there is a significant performance difference between comparable types.
