Central Iowa | Posted awhile ago about next precision step and my thoughts were confirmed with replies that soil sampling should be next step vs. having it done by local agronomist/coop. So, current setup is Edge w/262 (also have a Ag Leader 1500 antenna available). I've been told i can't use the Edge so what is my next step? I've got a laptop available but would also be interested in knowing what type of tablet would be available. More than likely will need to purchase one of the SMS software systems (mobile and advanced or can i just get advanced?)
I guess my long-term goals are--
1) Ability to conduct own soil sampling with the ability to get resulting data submitted for writing VRT maps for others to spread
2) Long term ability to do my own prescription writing and take to own VRT dry spreader
3) Ability to collect data points of stalk nitrate and tissue samples for N management
4) I realize i can hire this all done but prefer to do myself for some cost savings but more for building my knowledge/experience.
