Subject: Re: upgrade CPU in HP desktop?

Quick cursory look says yes, but it maybe a little expensive. There is a Core2 Duo E6850 at 3 GHz Here is some info. Search for E6600. http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_list.php

My question is how old is this machine. I went to newegg.com and found that the lowest Core2 Duo chip was an E7500 for $119.

The main problem with overclocking is does the motherboard or bios support overclocking. If not probably not, but never say never. Search google for HP m8067c overclocking. Here are the results from google. http://www.google.com/search?q=HP+m8067c+overclocking.&ie=u...

If you can overclock or can change chips, then you might just replace the guts of the machine.

Here is info on motherboards and cpus. http://www.newegg.com/Store/ComboDeals.aspx?ComboStoreID=1&name=CPU...

Or replace Motherboard / CPU / VGA Combo. http://www.newegg.com/Store/SubCategory.aspx?SubCategory=446&name=M...

Or just buy a new machine.
