Subject: Autotrack Universal problem

Centralia, MO
I've been running an ATU 200 on a JD8400 this spring. Today it started acting up. Every time I turned and I was on the right hand side of the line when I pressed resume, it would turn toward the line and then make a right turn when it centered up. At this point it would disengage leaving the wheel turned substantially to the right. On the diagnostic display it would say that the steering wheel had been turned by the operator. If I lined it up better myself where it only had to make small movements to acquire the line it was OK and I never had the problem if I was on the left side of the line. Dealer suggested reducing the acquire sensitivity but as far as I could tell all that did was make it take longer to acquire the line. I also had one occasion where it disengaged in the middle of a round when it made a larger than normal correction to the right. I don't know how it senses when the operator turns the wheel but it seems like this is where the problem is.
