Subject: Re: RTK questions

If you have a Phoenix 300 GPS receiver running the autoguide then you can use a product called slingshot to link the Phoenix 300 to the trimble base station. Slingshot is a wireless communication system that uses a specialized modem in the cab that links you to the internet via the 3G network and allows data transfer from servers to the cab over the 3G network. If the trimble base station is a network station (linked to the internet) then chances are the slingshot modem can link up to this base station and get you RTK into the Phoenix receiver. You will need to unlock the Phoenix for RTK though before this works. The slingshot modem also connects to the Viper Pro for remote service and wireless job transfers. I would contact your agco dealer and ask about the slingshot system and also ask the trimble guys if the base station is able to be logged into over the internet.
