Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
Yes, that was my thought also.

With Autopilot and Omni, I engage the steering when I'm slightly past half way in my turn. When I notice that my guidance line has advanced to the next pass and I'm headed in the general direction I engage.

The steering "squares up" the tractor and my pull-type planter gets straight behind the tractor while I'm still in the headland, I drop the planter, shift up and then engage the Diff lock. For me engaging the Diff lock when the steering is still bringing me in would be counterproductive.

With EZ-steer you are probably engaging much later in this sequence of events, so it is apparently desirable to have the steering and Diff lock to engage at the same time.
