Winkler, Manitoba Canada
A shuttle valve allows the load sense line from the device calling for flow to actuate the pump without backfeeding pressure to another device connected to the same load sense line but on the other port. Basically a shuttle valve is a tee with a check valve arrangement with one port going to the compensator on the pump and the other two ports connected to the power beyond valves load sense port. It only allows pressure from the device calling for the highest pressure to access the pump port. From your description your system should have one instead of the tee.
