southern MN | I helped my cousin order this computer back in '02, and cleaned it of visuses a few years later - 400+.
Then a few years later, the IP called him & said to stop using his computer, as it's 'spewng spam onto the internet'. I got up to 600 bugs cleaned off, but it still was going, and things seemed corupted enough that I just reformatted it for him.
NNow he got a new one a while ago, and gave me this one for helping him.
It is again kinda full of stuff, and has bad slowdowns and issues - corupted system files and such.
Now, you can lead a horse to the anti-virus trough, but you can't force them to keep the updates current. I know, I was there, I tried. ;) I know what you are thinking. I tried.
There were some younger people in the house that liked to click on any icon that popped up, and have every possible social network & music download application open......
So, formatt & clean install is for the best I think.
Appreciate your help, tho, I think you have some good advice there for many cases.
