Davenport, Washington | Yes Thud. From 15% to 16% is divided into 4 parts per percent. That would be 8 quaters times 30 cents. Right now I get 30 cents for every quarter percent above 14% up tp 16%. So my 16% wheat has a premium on it of $2.40 plus the 14% bushel price. Actual I get only paid up to 15.5%. That's what I am trying to find out about here. There is also 40 cents discount for every quarter under 14%.
Now back to the other posters here. I may be wrong but the lost money dosen't seem to be happening at my Co-op or the other two within 30 miles of me. My Co-op does have low protein to mix with it but don't know if they can mix and match with enough bins. We are mostly soft white hear. Is my Co-op the only way the loss of premium can happen? Does mixing 100 bu of 12% with 100 bu of 16% make it 200 bu of 14%?
