| I will add that Mac users can get Bento - a very simple, intuitive database application where the user can set up databases for tracking any kinds of records - all with one program. There are apps for the iPhone and iPad for field data entry and will transfer the data back to the desktop. I've used it and have been very impressed. It is easy enough for a novice to set up and allows one to custom tailor it to his own operation. It was just updated to version 4 today.
