Certain 'buzz words' in the subject line; email sent carbon copied to many addresses; very little content, or a lot of pics and such or almost no text with a web link will all tilt the filters to thinking this might be a spam message.....
As well as, there is a master list of blackballed servers and such that bwire mentioned - if your email comes from one of those blackballed servers it is considered spam.
Getting a Hotmail, Yahoo, or Google email address is free, and a good thing. They asll have very goods spam filters, and you can use this free email address to post on places like this.
Should you not want people to keep bugging you, or if a lot of spammers pick up on that address, you can just stop using it and create a new one. Leave your personal home email address for your small group of good people, and use the hotmail/gmail/yahoo address for strangers.....
