Don't know what the exact difference is between the 30" steel and the 20" Calmer snouts but it is HUGE.

 

Those steels snouts are a 2 man job to wrestle those things on or off the head.  The Calmer snouts are a very easy 1 person job.   I'd guess the steel weigh close to 100 lbs each and the poly are for sure under 20 lbs/snout.

Going to one gathering chain would save a fair amount of weight but I'm not willing to cut those lbs.

If a guy would put in a poly auger trough and completely remove the steel one that could save a few lbs also.

 

I would like to weigh the complete head an compare it to the book listed weight of an 863 but never got time to take the head to a scale this fall.
