Western CO | I've used gotomypc in the past, about 3-4 yrs ago is the last time I used it. My wife had an office in town and I was her sys. admin. Worked well, she could call me if she needed help on something and I could lead her through it or nights and weekends when she wasn't there she or I could get something done without driving to town. It needs a process running on the remote pc in the background to work. Basically the way it worked then is you had to designate a host machine and you could access that machine from anywhere else. Also while we had the service they added another machine for no cost to the base service. IIRC, it was about $20/mo. to have it. Sort of pricey but much less than gas and time if you have to make even one extra trip.
Recently I've also used gotomeeting which works well for organizations that have people in multiple locations -- way better than having a conference call. | |
