Why do you want to show it as an expense and asset?? You can put it in a prepaid expense asset account until you use it then you can expense it out through your classes. I don't think it can be listed as an expense on a p&l while being shown as an asset on a balance sheet in cash accounting. You could do this with accrual accounting.
