Yes. The US switched to digital a couple years ago and most of the stations in my area now broadcast in HD. There are no subscriptions to pay. Most stations also have several channels now (example: 33.1, 33.2, 33.3) but not all of the channels are in HD. In the example above, 33.1 is our ABC station and it is in HD. But 33.2 is the WB network and it is not. 33.3 is the local station's weather and it is broadcast 24 hours per day but is not in HD.
