Renville Minnesota | You didn't read my first post, so I'll repeat it.
"I didn't need the reel for the half our acres" The other half I touched the top 6 inches (once), just to let em fall to the belt.
In 13% beans, not a big deal, in 9% beans, VERY big deal.
Ive pushed a hydroflex for 6 hours, its a great head. Ive pushed a 40' Maxflex for 12 hours, Its just as good as a hydroflex, but bigger, thus getting more done (maybe it was the combine behind it).
Nothing has fed a combine as well (even flow, no bunches) as the drapers we have now after one season of use.
I was not a fan of the drapes when they first came around here, seems like they were not cutting as low, but those days seem to have been gone.
We run a yellow and red combine, Reds auger heads Im not a fan of, our yellow combine didn't have the feederhouse to handle a Maxflex, drapers fit the need for us.
If I were running a green combine, I'd probly stick with the hydroflex, but this year here, a Draper would save more beans because of almost no need for a reel. Over many acres, those extra beans saved add up. Beans don't hit the windsheild anymore. |
