southern MN | By 'go anywhere' do you mean travel the country and pick up internet 'anywhere'? Then you need to go the cell-phone route the others are saying, and use the cell towers for their sorta anywhere internet service.
Or, do you mean move around your farm yard anywhere? Then you can get high-speed internet (from telephone line, a wireless broadcaster coming off a tower within line of sight of you, a cable TV service, or from WildBlue or other sat provider) and set up your own wireless router that will broadcast your internet about 600 feet or so from where you set it up so you can use it anywhere in your house and very nearby areas.
If you don't like the cost of option 1, you can find 'wifi hotspots' in most towns across the USA, a hotel or resturant or library or coin laundryplace or coffee shop often have free or 'while you shop there free' access that your laptop will connect into. So, you can go 'anywhere' and with a tad of effort find ways onto the internet.
