the picture you show is the old fashioned 4 pole power plugs for hard drives and CD/DVD drives
obviously your new hard drive has a SATA data and a SATA style power connector - I have a few adaptors (think they came with motherboards for a while) I have also seen hybrid drives like you talk about that have a new SATA data cable but still use the old fashioned power supply connector.

I would bet for a couple bucks a guy could find an adaptor - they do exist -

Also, nowadays any new power supply comes with both styles.
