| I have two Seagate externals - a 500 MB and a 1.5 TB. I don't use the backup software that came with them because my Mac has it built in. I did set up a 750 MB Seagate for a friend on a Win computer and she uses the auto backup software. I would highly recommend using it rather than the manual backup method. The auto will keep your backup up to date. You have to be rather disciplined to keep an up to date manual backup. Anyhow, I have gotten along really well with Seagate drives over the years - both internal and external. There are other good brands out there too - but I stick with what has served me well. | |
