Yep have seen the Rood machines. I've seen them run one time with poor results. They have belts with slits that roll on the ground. When the slit opens up and then closes as it goes around a pulley it picks up the cotton. So it kinda has to smash the cotton into the dirt to pick it up. Not a good thing. Never worked good here. Usually used by someone as a very last resort, as in no insurance. Haven't seen one in twenty yrs or more.
