I'll try to be more specific. I carry a netbook with me most everywhere I go , mainly to connect to the server in the office to access Quickbooks and AgWorks (a work order mgmt program for the fert & chem industry).
When working on a larger laptop at home , where there is no dsl connection, I would like to be able to use the netbook modem (widows xp) to supply the larger laptop (windows xp) with signal. They are both wi-fi enabled.

I also have some feild computers I would like to experiment with, which would require an ethernet supply.

So to summarize my question,
Can I install a 4' Ethernet whip cord on the netbook to supply other devices with internet connection ?
